I'm Getting a Vision...
The reason I’ve yet to make it through this book – despite starting it three times – is the fact that I typically get so inspired during the read that I start to focus more on the vision of the moment then the rest of the book. It’s thought-provoking enough to keep drawing me back so I’m going to try it again… maybe this time I’ll finish the book, though I see the real success to be the vision that God’s working out through me.
The reason I’m getting into this book is the real motivation behind this post: I’ve been praying and thinking about it for awhile now and I believe that God’s calling me to begin a non-profit ministry.
For the last few months I’ve been without regular income, relying solely on freelance work as a source of income as well as very thrifty spending to get me by. The frustration comes from the fact that I’ve still been “working” full time between pro bono projects, ministry opportunities, volunteer opportunities, etc. If I were to gain 501(c)(3) status as a non-profit organization I would be able to continue focusing on ministry full time without the continued stress of trying to find work on a daily basis. Instead, I’d be able to apply for grants, accept private donations, and initiate fundraising strategies – all things that I’ve been gaining experience with over the last year.
While I don’t have all the details of what this ministry will look like, I believe it’s been taking shape for a few years now and I’m excited to see how it’s going to come together in the months/years to come. At this point, I don’t want to divulge too much as I'm still not sure where this is going, but I’m asking for prayers that I would continue to grow in my relationship with Christ as I work to more deeply understand who I am and what He would have me do through ministry.
Stay tuned and I’ll be sure to keep you posted!
