Spend Wisely

I was recently emailed the results of a consumer study conducted by Clark, Martire on behalf of Prime Access and PlanetOut, Inc.  The purpose of the study was to recognize what brands are perceived to be the most gay-friendly… and subsequently the least gay-friendly.

Among the most gay-friendly brands recognized were Bravo, Apple, Showtime, Levi’s and Starbucks.  Sears, Samsung, WalMart, Dunkin Donuts and Cracker Barrel came out at the other end… so this will be the last you hear me mention these brands in connection to this survey.

Though I think it’s important to recognize where our money is going and to refrain from spending it on things that are unsupportive of the community, I’m not really interested in trashing these companies.  Instead, I plan to post entries highlighting the businesses that were cited to be the most gay-friendly and I encourage you to purchase from them and increase your support of those who support us.

Besides… does anyone really need to be reminded not to support WalMart?
