Merry Two-Days-After-Christmas!

I'm finally coming out of the Christmas haze that has consumed the last few days and I'm greeted by crazy weather in the 60s!  It's making my Christmas tree seem really out of place - I guess it's about time to take it down, eh?

Christmas was a lot of fun here.  Christmas Eve I was invited to join Maggie and her family for dinner at her parents' house... dinner was delicious and the conversation was vigorous!  This family has been such a blessing to me since I moved here as they consistently invite me to join them and treat me like just one of the gang - particularly nice since I was missing my own family this year.

The next day I woke to open Christmas cards and a gift from my parents. For the record, those of you who are used to getting a Christmas card from me - I wasn't able to find a printer that I could afford this year, but I'm hoping to do something in the coming year!  It was a treat to have so many cards to open, particularly since most of them  went to my previous address and I had to trust the US Postal Service to get them safely to me.  I guess I may still have more cards to open in days to come... the fun doesn't stop!

I went to Jeremy and Sharon's for dinner Christmas day.  Although it didn't feel a lot like Christmas outside my window, I was still missing my family and it was nice to get to share the day with my "adopted family."  This is where I spent Thanksgiving and it was nice to see everyone again - including grandparents, aunts and uncles I'd previously not seen.  There were also a couple of cats that reminded me of Kash... *sigh*

Yesterday was my day to do nothing. I watched movies and worked on a project, but otherwise I never got out of my jammies and I never went outside.  It was a nice change of pace and I was reminded why I don't like to stay home all the time... I missed people!

Finally, my Christmas was rounded out this morning with a visit by my former roommate, Titus.  He called me earlier this week to let me know that he and his parents were going to be in the Indy area this weekend and to see if we might be able to hang out.  I jumped at the chance so I picked him up this morning and we had breakfast followed by a walk along the canal.  Though we've not seen each other since October, it was as though no time had passed.  So much has changed for both of us, but seeing Titus just took me back and it was like old times.  He's a great guy and it was a treat to get to spend even a little time with him.  Here we are just before I dropped him off and headed home:
