I Hope I Don't Regret This
Tonight is the first night I don't have anything I have to be doing so I get to enjoy the company of my Starbucks friends and post an entry on here*.
*Not that having something to do really makes a difference when it comes to being social at Sbux.
The last couple of days I've been working on a project for a friend who had asked me to do some caricatures for a local promotional piece. Though it's not something I consider to be one of my strengths, I was glad for the opportunity to practice and I'm pretty pleased with the results. Ultimately, I hope to have my skill level to the point where I can do parties, but for this project I was doing celebrity drawings so I worked from photos.
Tonight though, I'm going to test my proficiency and post one of the caricatures here:
Here's where it gets fun**! I'm going to wait to tell you who this is a drawing of so you can submit your guesses (and if you're one of the people who I've actually told the identity to, don't say anything!) - then in a week or so I'll post the correct answer. That sounds fun, right***?
**Unless my drawing is so poor that people's guesses end up hurting my feelings...***I could be fun if people actually read and respond. Okay, lurkers - not it's your chance to make your presence known!
NOTE: This person will probably be more recognizable to older viewers than to younger ones... okay, that's the only clue I'm giving.
I think the picture looks like Carol Burnett. Am I right?

Carol Burnett is a great guess - especially since it's Vicki Lawrence who worked with Carol Burnett on her show and was often regarded as having a very similar appearance!
... so who wins? You for guessing so close or me for drawing so well? ;-P

Wasn't she "Mama" on Mama's Family? Great work! One of my favorite shows of all time!
