A Weekend in Photos
February's not been running so smoothly where posting blog entries is concerned - I have the best of intentions, but then I get sidetracked... mostly by other activities. Over the last few days the weather has been so nice it's been hard to sit in front of a computer - so I didn't... I went to the canal instead!

After the prompting of a friend from out of town who wanted to know what I was talking about*, I decided to take a picture to post. Then I thought, why not take pictures of various moments during the day that I could post and let people see what a day in the life of Kevvo looks like... then it turned into a weekend project** until I put together the following:
*Actually, it turned into the prompting of a few friends. Being in a city so devoid of large bodies of water, I guess I talk about the canal a lot... it's about time I follow up with some photos!**because the weather just got better and better and I became less inclined to actually get in front of my computer to post what I'd already taken. As I write this, the weather continues to be nicer than yesterday - does this mean I'll have to take a hiatus from blogging for a few months while the weather is beautiful?
I started Saturday morning with what I called "the biggest omelette ever!" It actually wasn't the biggest ever... it wasn't even the biggest I've ever made - but it was so full of spinach, mushrooms and cheese*** that I had a hard time folding the egg over... it was just too big!
***I'd intended to put tomatoes in it, too, but the aforementioned "bigness" of it prevented me from putting all of the ingredients I'd already cut into it, much less additional ingredients... maybe next time.... don't worry though - this was mighty tasty as it was!

When I finished my breakfast, I called my friend Nick**** to see if he wanted to go to the canal and hang out - it'd been a long time since we'd seen each other so we were long overdo. We were joined by Will and Pyro and we enjoyed a breeze walk along the canal. I took a picture of myself with part of the canal that was already thawed***** at that point (I should have gotten a picture with my canal-buddies - maybe next time!):
****I actually called Nick before I made the omelette, forgetting that it was Saturday morning and not everyone else enjoys being up at the crack of dawn. In my defense, Nick is also my Farmers Market buddy and when we've done that it's been early-ish on Saturday mornings... I guess I just took for granted that I've seen him then. To his credit, he was very gracious and didn't hang up on me...*****There were large sections of the canal that were still covered in sheets of ice. The very next day I saw someone actually walk across the canal on one of those pieces of ice - crazy!

After the canal walk was concluded, I walked back to my favorite local hangout Starbucks. I've mentioned before how much community I've found there and it's rare that I can be there without knowing a handful of other people - on Saturday afternoon the crowd included friends Justin and Jessica.

I spent most of the rest of the afternoon and evening hanging out at Starbucks******. I got some work done and enjoyed meeting and chatting with my friends.
******If I'd been more diligent about capturing the people of my day I'd have a few more photos here. There were a lot of folks I saw that afternoon and evening. Maybe if this entry is popular enough, I'll do one like it again - and show a few more of the people I see.
The next day I went back to the canal for an even warmer afternoon*******. I took a loaf of bread with me that I've been saving to feed the ducks and I managed to coax a few of them over to me, despite the fact that everyone seemed to be feeding them and they really didn't stay long.
*******This wasn't the only thing I did on Sunday - it's just the only thing I took a picture of. I was actually quite active yesterday and that's why I didn't think to take more pictures. Even when I'm trying to focus on blogging throughout the day I still manage to drop the ball a little...****************This is the most side comments I've made in a single entry (and the FIRST time I've posted a comment on a comment - good grief!). I may need to try to come up with another method for denoting them since I don't imagine anyone is actually counting out each individual asterisk. I wish there was some sort of roman numeral system that I could use without the whole thing looking like an outline. Any suggestions?

Okay, now that I've done this I think I may try to spend one more afternoon at the canal... I LOVE this weather!
