Christmas Decorating

I put up my Christmas decorations today, what little I have.  I usually do this on Thanksgiving weekend, but since I was in Florida this year that wasn't an option.

As I mentioned, my decorations are minimal.  Last year I decided to buy another artificial tree.  I used to have a one-foot tree years ago when I decorated my bedroom at home (and during college) but I gave that tree to my godson a few years ago in favor of the real trees I had when I lived in Pennsylvania.  Alas, a real tree is more work than I want to deal with by myself (getting rid of it at the end of the season can be a task!) so I decided last year to suck it up and buy this one.  It's only three feet tall, but it sits nicely on the table in front of my window and it requires few decorations - which goes nicely with my desire to live on a modest budget.

Along with my tree, I have a couple strings of lights in the windows, a stocking on the door and candles on the table.  It's cozy.  And with the shades closed, I can't tell there's no snow outside - so it feels like Christmas!

Now it's time to start rummaging through my Christmas movies.  In the meantime, here's a picture of this year's tree... well, part of it:
