Christmas Cookies Party

Earlier this summer, I met Mary Beth.  As so many of my stories go, this one starts at Starbucks where Mary Beth and I met while we were both studying (she as a student, I as an instructor) on the patio.  We eventually struck up a conversation and the rest is history.   A short time later I met Michael, Mary Beth's 4-year-old son.

I see Mary Beth and Michael many Sunday mornings at Starbucks where I spend my quiet time and they come for treats.  We typically share a table and enjoy a conversation... Michael will often draw or play hide and seek while Mary Beth will try to do a little reading or planning for the day.  Over the months a friendship has formed.

Today we decided to get together at Mary Beth's apartment and make Christmas cookies.  Here's our team:

Michael was in charge of the rolling pin and making sure the cookie cutters were used while Mary Beth and I worked on creating unique cookies for people we know.  We enjoyed folded pizza (the Brooklyn way to eat it) and Rudolph's Christmas special and, yes, some of the cookies were a little over-cooked... but that doesn't matter since we were really there to decorate them anyway!

Here's Michael decorating a Christmas cookie that he and Mary Beth made just for me!

In return, here are the cookies I made for Mary Beth and Michael:
