I've been remiss in posting anything the last couple of weeks despite my strong start during the month of December.  Oh well, I guess 'tis the season to be busy... and I have been.  I wrapped up teaching my second quarter at the Art Institute and I enjoyed the privilege of working with another great group of students, I engaged in all the trappings of Christmas with buying and wrapping gifts, signing a few cards and making appearances at a couple of parties, and I did my best to actually relax and enjoy Christmas Day... it was good.

I'm currently in Hollywood, Florida, enjoying the start to the new year in a warm environment and in good company.  It's a treat to be able to relax, even if it's just for a week - this is the first time in a very long time that I've taken a vacation and not had something related to work on my mind.  It's true that I'll have plenty of work to keep me occupied when I get back, but it's manageable and something that can wait a few more days.
