My (Once a Month) Update...
I started a new journal a few days ago.
I've been keeping journals for the last three or four years and I try to make a point of writing in it every day, but after keeping this up for so long I've started to lose track of the order they go in... and subsequently what was going on in my life at the time. This time I decided to address that by writing a brief synopsis of where I am right now in the front of this journal - and while I was writing that I thought it would be a good time to post something here, too!
"As I begin this journal I've recently relocated to South Florida (ten weeks ago)..."
Okay, that's as much as I feel is appropriate to share here - so I guess I'll ad lib the rest:
I'm still in the process of looking for work. I've been fortunate to take on a new freelance client and I'm continuing with others, but as anyone who does freelance can tell you, it can be a little unnerving trying to make ends meet when the work isn't steady... so finding new clients is a part-time job and doing the projects is a part-time job. I'm hopeful that a few leads will pan out but at this point I'm looking forward to the day when I'm breaking even again.
The weather is still toasty. Bah - who am I kidding? It's darn HOT!!! Thankfully, I'm able to spend a large part of my day in air conditioning so I can't complain too much... but I'm already looking forward to what qualifies as cooler weather around here - 80. I think I only have about four more months before that comes back...
Spiritually, I've been experiencing a lot of turbulence, but I think I'm on the upswing. It often happens when I start a new journal that I get the chance to re-evaluate my walk - that's been the case again this time and I'm pleased with where I'm heading (of course, that's been a foregone conclusion for a number of years)... God is good.
I think this entry is feeling a little uninspired so I'm going to add a great video that has become my new morning mantra. I challenge you to try this ritual and NOT have a better day. You can do anything!:
