A Blustery Day in North Ireland

It's another beautiful, sunny day here in south Florida that feels nothing like fall - of course I'm not sure that fall officially starts until the Autumnal Equinox so I'm going to do my best to stop thinking about it.  Who knows, by that time it might be cooler here!

I only mention all of this because the illustration I did this morning makes me think of fall... or nighttime.  While my original idea for this came from a photograph of a pregnant woman, the final concept is quite a distance from that.  In my mind, this is a magical old woman who lives in northern Ireland.  Perhaps she's looking for trouble or perhaps she's only out for a walk on a blustery day, she's undoubtedly got a story to tell*.
*Maybe it's a children's story?  I think I'll go ahead and include this in my offerings for children's book illustration.

Now I'm inspired to take a walk myself... now where did I put my walking stick and shawl?
